Whatsapp Payment Google vs. Tez: Both use the UPI, but it is beneficial from WhatsApp.

Whatsapp has launched a new payment service this week, which is officially more than your regular messaging platform. Whatsapp Payments feature, which allows users to send and receive money, has started rolling out for Android users and India is one of the first markets to get new service. In India, Whatsapp Payments will compete directly against the likes of Peytm, Mobikwick and Google Tez.
Today, Patyam and
Mobikwick are installing players in e-purse games because they provide much more services than just sending and receiving. This means that they are unlikely to be affected by WhatsApp payments, because of the recent entry of Google Tez, which was launched in India a few months ago in September. Due to being a fairly new payment app in fast India, there will be more challenge than one from WhatsApp.
Both What's Payments and Google Tez are UPI-based and both companies have partnered with many Indian banks such as Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI and State Bank of India. For undefined, the UPI (Integrated Payment Interface) is a real time payment system that enables digital transactions between banks without the input of NFSC codes and other bank account details. All users must ensure that their mobile number is linked to their bank account (s)
- The biggest reason is that Whatsapp already wins in this competition before it even goes, thanks to the numbers. Whatsapp, with the most popular messaging platform, enjoys more than 200 million monthly active users today, while the fastest growing up to 12 million subscribers by December 2017. While WhatsAppSpace Payments is still rolling and is not yet available for iOS users, nevertheless a substantial number of users are looking for service compared to Tez
- With a smartphone in India a lot of people are on the WhatsApp as it is a DIFFACO messaging service. It is very easy to transfer or receive money between friends and family because they can take action from within the messaging without downloading another app. On the other hand to enable payment through fast, cash mode or mobile number, the app needs both sender and receiver to download. A Tez user can also send money to a non-fast user, but the bank account details will be required which makes it a bit tedious process.
- Google Tez is also limited in that it does not come with the messenger feature, WhatsApp is a messenger service before it makes it easy for users to communicate with each other and it is easy to transfer money on-the-money it happens. Essentially, Whatsapp is a more holistic service as it allows for messaging and digital payments.
- Whitspeap's overall popularity promotes new players like Google Tez, which is still new and is still working to establish a user base. As far as convenience is concerned, people are more likely to want to send and receive money rather than downloading a separate app to do what Whatsapp is doing.
- It's being said, Whatsapp payments also comes with its limitations So far, this service only allows for peer-to-peer transactions and nothing else. Meanwhile, services like Google Tez, Pettym and Mobikvik allow users to pay bills and enable transactions with merchants and businesses. For more dependent users on digital transactions for different purposes, WhatsApp payments will not be enough.
- There is another big question mark in relation to fraud transactions on whatsapp. The messaging service has been a haven for spam papers and the payment facility can now enable fraudulent transactions by cheating random users. On the other hand, Google Tez is less likely to cause such cases because it does not come with messenger.
On its face, Whatsapp's peer-to-peer payment service already has the number and feature factor, which gives a leg to services like Google Tez. However, without facilities like bill payment, WhatsAppSpace payments are limited. If someone gets deep, then it can see that whatsapp payments only currently connects to existing digital payment services in India, which can add all its saturation. It would be interesting to see what fast competition prevails among such new challenges as petmey and whatsapp payment.
