The Huawei P20, P20 Plus and P20 Lite are all expected to sport edge-to-edge as the current trend. But the more interesting aspect is that two of the smartphones are going to be released on a trim camera.
This is something that tipster Evan Blass revealed back in December, and was teased by Huawei in its invitation as well.
The P20 Lite, however, will come with a dual camera setup on the back. As per recent schematics, renders and live images,
the P20 lite will sport minimal bezels on the front, and will be interestingly see an iPhone X-like cut cut out on top.
If the live images are true, the P20 Lite could look very similar to the iPhone X. The notch on the front, albeit small in size compared to the iPhone X, expected to face the camera lens and sensors for face recognition.
The facial recognition system will be apparently be 10 times more accurate than Apple's Face ID, rumours suggest.
The rear of the P20 Lite sees a vertical dual camera setup similar to the iPhone X, and a fingerprint sensor placed just above the center.
Notably, the source that leaked the images says the P20 Lite will sport a 5.8-inch display with an 18: 9 aspect ratio.
This contradicts FCCs schematics that suggests a 6.1-inch 19: 9 display. The source also notes that the P20 Lite w measure 148x71x7.2mm.
Meanwhile, the metal frame will be sandwiched between glass on the front and back. The bottom of the frame will see a USB Type-C port,
a speaker grille on the right and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the left.
The Huawei P20 Lite is expected to be a 2900mAh battery and will run Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0.
The handset is also expected to be powered by the companys Kirin 970 chipset which comes with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit that is designed as a AI accelerator.
The Huawei P20 and P20 Plus, on the other hand, will be highlighting a triple lens setup on the back co-developed by Leica.
The tri-camera setup could provide 40-megapixel stills and 5x optical zoom. The front of the P20 is a 24-megapixel dual camera setup. You can expect more on the P20-series in the coming days.
