Google's announcement indirectly adds more fuel for rumors that the Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) will be running. HMD Global is planning to unveil many such smartphones, which include Nokia 1, Nokia 4, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Pro.
At the bottom end of the spectrum, there will be Nokia 1, which is expected to be an Android Go smartphone, although nothing has been confirmed yet. The pebble-shaped Nokia 1's renderer gave us a good idea a few days ago that the entry-level handsets would look like.
According to the rumors till now, Nokia 1 will come with absolutely basic hardware specs, which include 8 GB internal storage capacity and a low-end processor (either snapdragon 212 or entry level mediatech chipset) through 1 GB RAM, micro SD card.
All this will be enough to run Android Orao (Go Edition) and will give the smartphone a foothold in comparison to the existing entry-level handsets. "Starting next week, you will see the first set of Android Oreo (Go Edition) phones, and soon they will be available after you make a purchase," Google said.
In Google's blog post, the company also said that we will also see some announcements about the new Android One smartphones.
