CNTRIC Mobile announced Thursday that it will invest Rs 648 crore for setting up a research and development and manufacturing unit for mobile phones in Uttar Pradesh.
State-of-the-art full knock-down (CKD) manufacturing facility, will fulfill the "CNTRIC" and "FDRD" mobile phones created by Priyanka Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd, as well as other mobile phone manufacturers globally, the company Here at the UP investor conference, said.
Priyanka Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd founder Manish Agarwal said in a statement, "The company is planning to invest Rs 648 crore in the establishment of R & D and manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh."
The project hopes that more than 1500 people will get employment at different levels, the company has said.
CNTRI Mobile recently launched its Budget Smartphone Centrics "L3" in India for Rs 6,749.
The device has 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, which has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, which can be increased to 256 GB.
The phone has 13 MP rear auto focus (AF) camera and a 5MP front shooter. 5D HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass.
The double sim budget device has a fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE support and 3,050 mAh battery.
